A pulsating substance seeps from an underground studio under the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Peterbilt rigs scream down the nearby BQE, jackknifing through the East River's bracing winds. A mutant pigeon-rat-thing scurries out of a grate to howl at a jaundiced moon, before a rare silence overtakes the scene. A twisted grin gleams in the darkness as a disembodied voice intones "It's coming again, it's coming again..."

In Swarm lands on Styles Upon Styles with a cataclysmic eight tracker that shudders into new forms of German industrial, NYC hardcore and British jungle boiled into a brew that's bound to bruise. A pair of transplants metastasized to New York, Federico Gómez (S0N!kA) and Johann Rashid (Promiseland) meld their solo strains into doomsday prophecies for our world: we are on the verge of ending without glory or footnote; we are a virus spread to the outer limits of nature's imagination.

Rashid's lyrics embrace the lexicon of our ecological demise, careening his vocals through poisoned pipes and garbage-logged oceans to lament the irony of it all as we spiral, spiral, spiral helplessly down the drain. Gómez's army of synths, guitars and percussion mirror this maelstrom of self-destruction and loss, compacting metal and noise into tightly-wound compositions that convulse before bursting into shards of UK bass weight.

In Swarm comes to vinyl and digital forms on March 29, 2019. Mastered and cut by Sam John at Precise and pressed in limited quantities at Burlington Record Plant. Each LP comes quarantined with a risograph print and screen-printed jackets, designed by Gómez and Alexandra Wisniewski. Rashid and Gómez will share a short film realization of In Swarm in 2019 in select theaters worldwide.
